BCA International has been progressively design to build a Halal Gelatin Industrial Park that will allocate the first Halal Gelatin factory in South East Asia. As our aims for Malaysia to be established ‘Halal Ecosystem’, BCA International’s role and responsibilities to provide the Halal Gelatin Industrial Parks, Halal Gelatin R&D (testing lab), Halal Traceability System and Standard & Certification. Halal culture fosters a community-centric approach which is repeatedly recommended in Qur’anic injunctions.

Alhamdulillah, with the supports from the Government of Malaysia’s ministries and related agencies like Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), Halal Development Corporation (HDC) and Department of Veterinary Services. On 27 November 2019, BCA International has received full support from JAKIM regarding the planned initiatives as this will benefit consumers as well as boosting the Halal industry in Malaysia. For this purpose, the HDC recommends that a feasibility study be conducted to strengthen the relevant development bases. In this matter, the efforts pioneered by BCA International to develop a halal gelatin industrial park will be significant important because it can reduce the dependence on halal gelatin imported from abroad and will be able to meet the demands for halal gelatin which is widely used in various industries across the world.
Strategic MOU has been signed betrween BCA International with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and UMP Green Technology Sdn Bhd (UMPGT) on investment value of RM40 million. This collaboration of its research and development and Halal Gelatin Incubator Plant in Pekan, Pahang which the total production capacity of 360 tonnes per annum that can only cater about 30% of Malaysia’s market. The MOU denotes a collaboration between BCA and UMPGT which possess the technical knowledge and capabilities for the development and production of Halal Gelatin. In the long run, the idea is to transform Halal Gelatin Incubator Plant to become the Centre of Excellence for Halal Gelatin production technology and products R&D.
A Second Phase of Halal Gelatin Plant is headway scheduled to be developed in Pekan, Pahang with the projection of the total production of 3,000 tonnes per annum with projected investment value of approximately RM300 million. The Halal Gelatin Industry hub will become the center to thousands of business entrepreneurs that will take advantage of the availability and supply of Halal Gelatin including creating 5,000 new job opportunities in total by year 2024.
